The Kurouchi finish is applied to a stainless cladding, making this knife both rare and difficult to forge. This innovative approach blends traditional Japanese forging techniques with modern stainless steel technology, resulting in a blade that offers the rustic aesthetics of a Kurouchi knife while eliminating the maintenance concerns associated with high-carbon steel. The Nashiji Kurouchi Stainless Clad Series is notably thinner than our traditional Kurouchi stainless clad options, enhancing its laser-like performance and ease of sharpening.

The term Kurouchi translates to "Black-Forged," capturing the distinctive look and unpolished rustic finish of the blade. Our knives feature two layers of full Kurouchi stainless steel, providing exceptional durability and protection without compromising sharpness. With a hardness rating of 62-63 on the Rockwell scale, the inner core of White Steel #2 is highly regarded for its edge retention, enabling it to maintain an incredibly sharp edge over extended use. The Kurouchi Stainless Cladding is also more forgiving when exposed to moisture, ensuring that the superior sharpness remains intact.

Each knife is complemented by a handcrafted Octagonal Rosewood handle, designed for comfort for both left and right-handed users. A lacquered Magnolia wood Saya cover is included, offering safe and convenient storage.
